岡本はロンドンにて美術を学んだ後に、日本、アメリカ、オランダにて作品を発表。2018年に未来の部族”CALMA”の生活様式および表現行為をコンセプトとしたアートブランドを立ち上げ、バイク、立体、平面、インスタレーションなど多様な手法を用いて作品を制作するアーティストです。
＜CALMA＞について岡本が「博物館で鑑賞する部族とは、遠い異国の密林の民であったり、あるいは数千年前の人類の記録をいいます。しかし、今を生きる我々もまた未来の鑑賞対象であるはずです。今、この時代をどう生きたか? 何を作り、何に重きを置き、何に問題定義して生きたのか? さまざまな事に思いをはせて作品を作っています。衣/食/住/移動/信仰対象/音楽や、時には医療に及ぶかもしれません。」と語るように、＜CALMA＞には博物学のアプローチが作品のコンセプトに用いられています。

After studying art in London, Okamoto has exhibited his work in Japan, the U.S., and the Netherlands. In 2018, he launched an art brand based on the concept of the lifestyle and expressive practices of the future tribe CALMA and uses a variety of methods including motorcycles, sculptures, planes, and installations to create his work.
Okamoto explains, "The tribes we see in museums are people in the jungles of distant lands, or records of humanity from thousands of years ago etc. However, we who live in the present should also be the objects of future appreciation. How did they live in this time? What did they create, what did they focus on, and what were their problems? I create my works with these thoughts in mind. It may be clothing/food/housing/movement/objects of faith/music and sometimes even medicine. "As shown in his words, "CALMA" uses the approach of natural history in the concept of his works.

 

我喜屋位瑳務 | Isamu Gakiya　[website][Instagram]

 

我喜屋位瑳務はイラストレーターとして活躍する一方で、美術館での展覧会や芸術祭に参加するなど、アーティストとしての活動を続けています。
沖縄県で生まれ育った我喜屋は、沖縄に残るアメリカ文化の名残に影響を受けており、彼が創り出すイメージは、戦後アメリカのホラー、SF映画やアメコミが持つ世界観を感じさせ、紡がれる様々な時間と場所とが混在したイメージは、成熟した現代社会のなかで無数の価値観と大量の情報の中で暮らす私たちの姿を映し出します。

Besides working as an illustrator, Gakiya has been working as an artist, participating in museum exhibitions and art festivals.
Born and raised in Okinawa Prefecture, Gakiya is influenced by the remnants of American culture that remain in Okinawa, and the images he creates evoke the worldview of post-war American horror and science fiction films and American comics.
Gakiya uses various techniques, such as drawing, collage, and painting, to create his works. And the images he creates, which are a mixture of various times and places, reflect the way we live in today's mature society with countless values and a large amount of information.

 

高木 真希人 | Makito Takagi　[website][Instagram]

 

2010年多摩美術大学絵画学科卒業。本展での展覧会以降国外でのグループ展への参加が複数決定しており、今後の活躍が期待される若手アーティストです。
高木は普段凝視することのない深層心理や異界を想起させるモチーフを確かな筆致で描き出します。暗闇の中でフラッシュを使ってカメラで偶然撮影されたように描かれたクリーチャーたちを描く作品を中心に発表してきましたが、近年は光の描き方を変えた新たな試みを取り入れた作品も発表しています。

Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Painting in 2010. Since this exhibition, he has been invited to participate in several group exhibitions outside Japan, and is expected to be a young artist with high expectations for the future.
Takagi paints motifs that remind us of deep psychology and the other world, which we do not usually stare at, with a certain brush stroke. He has been showing mainly works depicting creatures drawn as if they were accidentally photographed with a camera using a flash in the dark, but in recent years he has also been showing works that incorporate a new approach to depicting light.

 

塚本 暁宣 | Aki Tsukamoto　[website][Instagram]

 

塚本は2014年に武蔵野美術大学の大学院を修了後、2年間の国内での活動を経て渡米し、ニューヨークへ渡るとクイーンズの工場地帯に友人同士で共同アトリエを構えました。
文化の違いの中で生み出されたキュビズム化したカートゥーンをモチーフとした「ニューキュビズム」や海外アニメのワンシーンをカットして関係ないモチーフと組み合わせる「フェイクカートゥーン」はアメリカのポップカルチャーやグラフィックカルチャーの影響を大きく受けています。2020年には4年間の滞在を終え帰国し、現在は東京のアトリエで創作活動を行い、ポップアートの新しい地平を模索するべく精力的に作品制作を行っています。

After completing graduate studies at Musashino Art University in 2014, Tsukamoto spent two years working in Japan before moving to the U.S. When he moved to New York, he set up a joint studio with a friend in a factory district in Queens.
"New Cubism", a motif of cubist cartoons created in the midst of cultural differences, and "fake cartoons", in which he cuts scenes from foreign cartoons and combines them with unrelated motifs, have been greatly influenced by American pop culture and graphic culture. In 2020, he returned to Japan after a four-year stay, and is currently working in his studio in Tokyo, energetically creating works to explore new horizons in pop art.

寺本愛 | Ai Teramoto [website][Instagram]

 

大学で美術と服飾を学んだ寺本は、自身が訪れた日本各地の地域・服飾文化に暮らす人々に着目し、その土地での実際の事象に、個人的な体験や記憶、フィクションを複層的に重ね合わせた作品を制作。作品を通じて、時間・空間的差異を越えた「人が生活すること」の普遍性の表出を試みています。個展や芸術祭での作品発表を続けながら、様々な媒体へのアートワーク提供やイラストレーション・マンガ等、クライアントワークも手がけています。

 

Teramoto, who studied art and fashion at university, focuses on people living in regions and clothing cultures throughout Japan that he has visited, and creates works that combine actual local events with personal experiences, memories, and fictions in multiple layers. Through his works, she attempts to express the universality of "human life" that transcends temporal and spatial differences. While continuing to present their works at solo exhibitions and art festivals, they also provide artwork for various media, illustrations, manga, and other client works.

 

宮川慶子| Keiko Miyagawa [website][Instagram]

 

宮川慶子は、平面、立体、インスタレーション、詩作など様々なメディアを使って制作を行い、近年では青森美術館や平塚市美術館での個展の開催や、奈良美智氏が選ぶ若手作家選抜「プロジェクトPHASE2014」を受賞するなど、今後の活躍が期待されるアーティストです。

宮川は、ヒトおよび動物たちの生命のありかたについての思いや、小さくか弱い存在への共鳴や共感を多彩な手法で表現します。

ときにはマクロに、ときにはミクロに生を見つめる宮川の目線は、生物が本来持つ強さとその豊かさと尊厳について、わたしたちに語りかけます。

 

Keiko Miyagawa uses a variety of media, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, installation, and poetry. In recent years, she has held solo exhibitions at the Aomori Museum of Art and the Hiratsuka Museum of Art, and received the "Project PHASE 2014" award for young artists selected by Yoshitomo Nara.

Miyagawa uses a variety of techniques to express his thoughts on the nature of human and animal life, as well as his resonance and empathy for small, fragile beings.

Sometimes macro, sometimes micro, Miyagawa's eye for life speaks to us of the inherent strength, richness, and dignity of living things.

 

森田 晶子 | Shoko Morita　[website][Instagram]

 

森田晶子は武蔵野美術大学造形学部映像科中退後、愛知県立瀬戸窯業高校陶芸専攻科を修了し、セツ・モード・セミナーを卒業しました。そこで絵画、陶芸、映像を学んだ森田は、円型やハニカム型などの支持体に陶器の肌のような質感を持った独特な下地をつくり、その下地を引っ掻くことで描かれたモチーフに着彩をする独特の技法を使い、幻想的な物語を描き出します。

After dropping out of Musashino Art University's Department of Imaging Arts and Design, Shoko Morita completed the ceramics course at Aichi Prefectural Seto Ceramic High School and graduated from Setsu Mode Seminar. Morita, who studied painting, ceramics, and video there, uses a unique technique of creating a unique base with a texture like ceramic skin on a circular or honeycomb-shaped support, and then painting the motifs by scratching the base to create a fantastic story.

 

吉村 宗浩 | Munehiro Yoshimura　[website][Instagram]

 

吉村宗浩は1980年代より地道に作家活動を続けながら、真摯に絵画と向き合ってきた孤高の作家です。自らの内面と誠実に向かい合いながら描かれる吉村の作品には、私たちの生活に潜む滑稽さや不条理さを映し出しながら、その姿を優しく見守る視線があります。古典的な絵画のモチーフである肖像画や静物・風景画を独自の目線と確かな技術で描く吉村の油彩絵画は、現代の絵画についての考察を促します。

Munehiro Yoshimura is a solitary artist who has been working steadily since the 1980s, and has been sincerely engaged in painting. Yoshimura's works, which he paints while sincerely confronting his own inner self, reflect the ridiculousness and absurdity that lurks in our daily lives, and at the same time, there is a gaze that gently watches over them. Yoshimura's oil paintings, which depict classical painting motifs such as portraits, still lifes, and landscapes with his unique perspective and reliable technique, encourage us to think about contemporary painting.
